Two killed after single-vehicle crash in Hoover

Two people were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon in Hoover, Alabama.

The crash took place when a pickup truck pulling a trailer was traveling on Montgomery Highway, just north of Parkway Lake Drive, and it lost control before hitting a guardrail.

Officials also say the truck struck a tree, trapping the driver inside, while the passenger was taken out of the vehicle.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their identities are withheld pending notification to their families.

It is yet to be determined what caused the crash.

Hoover Police Department is investigating the crash.
