The midsize sedan Kia Optima now features a 12-speaker premium audio system from Infinity. Harman’s Infinity brand has now been a partner of Kia for 11 years. The car is equipped with a 550 Watt amplifier, has advanced Digital Signal Processing and is said to start selling later this year. The system also feeatures multiple sources and formats including iPod and MP3 players that can be used through the built-in auxiliary or the USB slots.

The 12 speakers are strategically placed so they can deliver the best sound quality: the sound system includes two cloth-domed tweeters and two Metal Matrix Diaphragm midrange speakers with highly dynamic response. The sound quality is enhanced by the 100-mm center speaker and the door-mounted loudspeakers provide perfect sorround sound.

The low frequency effects are handled by the 200 mm dual voice coil subwoofer. Michael Mauser, the co-president of Harman Automotive says that the audio system will surely deliver the right experience ti its customers for both the driver and the passengers.
