After the Frankfurt Motor Show event, in which the new generation of the CX-5 has been revealed, the Mazda company releases a video, showing the new “mini” SUV in its urban natural environment.
Acording to the Japanese manufacturer, the 2012 CX-5 is the first of a new generation to adopt the SkyActiv Technology with its engine range including two units in three displacements having a SkyActiv-G 2.0 liter direct injection petrol with 165 PS and 210 Nm and the SkyActive-D 2.2 diesel with a two-stage turbocharger delivering 150 PS and 380 Nm of torque in stage one or 175 PS and 420 Nm in stage two.
The car is supposed to have an average fuel consumption of 47.1 mpg (European) meaning that it will emit just 139 g/km CO2 for the petrol engine, while the diesel version will burn 62.8 mpg and will emit 119 g/km in the 150 PS version.
Unfortunately, information regarding the price of the new SUV remain unknown, but the Japanese automaker says that the car will hit the dealerships in UK early next year, though it shouldn’t be a surprise if we see them on the streets by the end of this year.
