Mazda has managed over the years to create its own style, not only regarding the design or performance, but a way of behaving in press and announcing its realisations. It’s something about a speciffic attitude, that can easily be spotted in every public event, including the SEMA announcement.
Not taking into consideration the usual method of announcing things, like an official press release, Mazda chose to release their teaser as to what it will be featuring at SEMA for what appear to be only the fans, on Facebook and Flickr.
Even though no specifications have been released yet, some details can be extracted from these pictures, like the fact that two concepts will be unveiled at the event. First is the Mazda MX-5 Spyder, that appears to be lowered and upgraded with a stretched canvas roof, as well as new front spoilers and larger brakes.
Second comes the Turbo Mazda 2. One of the phtographs of this car on Flickr had a caption saying that this concept is one of the most powerful turbocharged engines in Mazda’s lightest platform, which sounds like a very nice surprize for us, because if Mazda managed to overgrow the most powerful turbocharged engine in its lineup which is the Mazdaspeed3’s engine, it would be a dream come true.
After the event we swear to bring more details about this car, because it just sounds like unreal.

The Mazda2 is The Autobarn Mazda of Countryside’s Speed2. It was built by The Autobarn for The one Lap of America Race. The car is a Mazda2 Sport with a Speed3 drivetrain including a 2.3l Turbo engine with a built bottom end by Cp-e and suspension work from Corksport. It was driven 3800 miles across the US by Eric Vates and Charles Espenlaub in the Compact car division. The car is on loan to Mazda R&D for the 2011 SEMA show
