Mercedes-Benz GLK coupe to make 2016 debut

According to reliable sources Mercedes-Benz is in the process of producing a coupe version for the GLK.

Known as the GLC in internal circles, the three-door GLK will be based on the second-gen model and is expected to be out sometime in 2016. Actually rumor is that Mercedes-Benz will drop the dull look of the first-gen model in favor of a more stylish and thinner body which will suit a three-door coupe.

It will be one of the firm’s first models based on a new RWD platform known as MRA. In terms of engine we should expect to see 2.0- and 2.2-liter gasoline and diesel engines, while a possible GLC AMG could get a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter producing 462 hp (344 kW).

Prices start from 29,000 GBP (about 45,924 USD or 34,426 EUR). The unknown versions will be available with the firm’s 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, while the higher-end versions will get it as normal.

Performance and specifications related stuff is still not known and we will have to wait till the actual launch takes place.
