by SpeedLux

Volkswagen has recently reaffirmed their commitment to build a seven-seat crossover.

While speaking at a recent presentation in Michigan, the Volkswagen’s CEO of Chattanooga Operations Frank Fischer confirmed that the Tennessee plant is in the running to build the model. Frank also went on to say that the plant is competing against the Puebla, Mexico factory and there is a good possibility of decision being made by the end of the current year.

The CEO did not reveal much detail about the model but he did confirm that his team was working pretty hard towards it. He also revealed that it will ride on the MQB platform which will also underpin the next-generation Passat.

Frank Fischer declined to give the exact date as to when the seven seat crossover would be launched, but we know that the model was recently previewed by the CrossBlue concept which came with dimensions of 4,987mm long, width of 2,015mm and height of 1,733mm.

We expect the details of the model to be out soon and as the same is released and we come to know about it, we will surely let you know the same.
