Citroen fans may well rejoice as the French automaker has finally taken the veil off its latest concept car, the Divine DS Concept. Citroen is currently exhibiting its latest concept car at the 2014 Paris Motor Show which is taking place right now. Well, even though it may not fulfill customers’ expectations of a new model from the French brand, the concept car, however, is a good insight into what Citroen will potentially be offering in its DS product lineups in the future.
It is interesting to note that the Citroen Divine DS Concept is actually a compact car that packs quite a huge horsepower on it. Thanks to its turbocharged 1.6L engine, the concept previewed at the 2014 Paris Motor Show is capable of bursting 267 hp at the engine revolution of 6,000 rpm.
In addition to that, the concept car also boasts 243 lb-ft of torque in total at somewhere between 1,900 and 5,500 rpm. Yet, in spite of its pretty powerful engine, the car does not have too much emission, making it friendly to the environment. The total CO2 emission of this car is only 145 g/km.
Besides powerful, the Citroen Divine DS Concept is quite stylish as well. It sports scissor doors that open up in the style of the Mazda RX-8. One thing that makes this car unique from the competitors is that there is no rear windshield but a deck lid of sorts instead. The rear deck lid is made of multiple triangular panels.
Needless to say, as a compact car, Citroen has to make sure that the car is neither too wide nor too long. As such, the car measures only 4.21 meters in length, 1.98 meters in width and 1.35 meters in height. However, it does have a large set of wheels, 20 inches. In addition to that, the Citroen Divine DS Concept comes with a low suspension to emphasize its aggressiveness on the road.
