Apple is still in the auto business. The autonomous vehicle service.

Regardless of reports that the tech giant was downsizing its secret auto project, it was just approved a permit by the California Department of Motor Vehicles to test self-driving vehicles on roads.

Apple becomes part of a long list of companies on the registry that includes Google, Ford, Tesla, General Motors, and Bosch. That last one is two times as substantial, due to the fact that one of its facilities in Germany responsible for automobile parts appeared last month on an Apple supplier responsibility report, as per Apple Insider.

Apple hasn’t revealed precisely what its working on in the automobile area, although CEO Tim Cook has called it “interesting,” and that the firm is constantly looking at new things. New rumors indicate Apple being concentrated on the software and devices that will allow autonomous cars, instead of the development of an entire automobile.

We should discover more about it, as the permit needs public reporting of crashes involving the test vehicles and how frequently they need human intervention.
