CCTV appeal as car stolen by a thief having baby inside it, after mother goes to shop

Cops have introduced a CCTV appeal after a vehicle having a 10-month-old baby inside was stolen from outside a shop and driven around 100 yards up the roadway.

Cambridgeshire Police stated the victim left her car with the baby inside, parked outside a store located in London Road in Kimbolton while she shortly went inside at around 3.30 pm on Wednesday.

A guy, who had been a passenger in what is thought to be a blue Peugeot which brought up close by, approached the victim’s automobile, a silver Volvo.

He then repelled in the car with the child, who was strapped in his car seat, in the back of the car.

The kid’s mom saw the vehicle being taken and pursued it while yelling for the offender to stop.

The offender stopped the car around 100 backyards down London Roadway and abandoned it before returning into the blue car.

The child was recovered safe and well.

Pc Carl Harris informed: “The vehicle was taken in broad daytime in a matter of seconds by a brazen thief who got more than he bargained for.

“Thankfully the child was unharmed however this was a deeply disturbing occurrence which could have had awful consequences.”

Officers wish to talk to anyone who saw the occurrence or who identifies the man in the CCTV images.
