China’s Jiangling Motors unit obtains electric car licence

One unit of China’s Jiangling Motors Corporation has been granted a licence to produce 50,000 electric vehicles, as per an online publishing by the nation’s state planner seen by Reuters on Wednesday.

The automaker is the seventh to get such consent under a licencing program particularly for new energy cars.

Jiangling Motors Corporation, also known as JMC, has operated a commercial vehicle joint venture with Ford Motor since 1997.
