Concours d’Elegance Preview: Bugnotti Coupe from Delahaye

by Ron Grant

On its way to catch the spotlight at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this August is this pure stunner: The Bella Figura Bugnotti 57S from Delahaye USA.

The New Jersey based company reinterprets how the great cars of the past would have been built today. The Bugnotti Coupe was inspired byt the Type 57S which came out of the Bugatti garage in 1937. The automotive work of art is said to be in honor of Jean, the son of Ettore Bugatti.

The recreation of the design lines were crafted by Delahaye in collaboration with the Revolution Design Studios and 3G services.  Buyers of this Bella Figura can choose if they want a carbon fiber finishing with a clear coat on top, painted body made of composite and carbon, or just pure composite. The Bugnotti 57S will also be re-created as a Targa, Drophead Coupe, and coupe.

The Bugnotti 57 S will be sold as a turn key fully assembled model or just a rolling chassis which can be fitted with the engine as desired by the buyer. This Bella Figura had us at hello and it really does not matter what the powerplant will be.

Delahaye has been displaying a scale of the project at certain auto shows recently but the company promises to come up with a full-size version this Fall.

The carbon fiber body full-scale version will be shown off during the August 1 to 15 Retro Auto in Pebble Beach.
