Driver dies after car went into Connecticut River

 A man died after his car went into the Connecticut River Saturday.

Glastonbury Police say it the incident occurred just after noon.

Callers informed police that a vehicle had passed through a field off of Tyron Street and had gone into the Connecticut River.

Divers from the Middletown and Portland Fire Departments, and also DEEP, responded to the region to help in the search for the vehicle.

Officials found the vehicle later that afternoon and saw that the male driver was still inside, but was dead.

Investigators are looking into the circumstances that led the incident.

Police have not revealed the name of the driver pending notification of the next of kin.
