Ferrari 250 GT LWB “Tour de France” Berlinetta Auctioned for $3.6 million: Official Info and Photos

by Zack Colt

Even though youo would expect a new supercar filled with gadgets and options that can make you wish for nothing else in the world, there appearently are people interested in the classic, old-fashioned cars, that carry on with them besides the years, the history.

The star at the RM Auctions in London last night was not one of the most proeminent four lots, an Aston Martin or a Lamborghini, or even a newer modelof Ferrari, but a 1958 Ferrari, which was sold for the total price of $3.6 million.

The Ferrari 250 GT LWB “Tour de France” Berlinetta was purchased by a telephone bidder at RM Auctions, proving with the price he was prone to pay his passion for vintage and classy.

The price for this car, including taxes, was the highest of the evening, reaching 2.24 million pounds. This was the most highly valued lot, with an expected hammer price of as high as 2.4 million pounds.
Senior analyst Dave Selby at the U.K.-based research company Historic Automobile Group International (HAGI) related that there is still interest for established top-level vehicles such as the Ferraris.

We can only smile, in the good or in the bad way, first thinking that it is kind of nice that people still value classy and old cars, and second thinking that is a damn irony that some really can afford them.
