Four killed after car crash on Interstate 44 near Springfield

Four people were killed after a three-car crash on Thursday night on Interstate 44, near Springfield, Missouri.

The crash took place about 10 p.m. when Joshua Wamsley, 33, of Springfield, was traveling eastbound in a pickup truck when he hit an SUV from behind.

Wamsley then entered the westbound lane, where he struck Patrick and Shandrea Holloway’s SUV head-on.

Wamsley’s passenger, Danielle Dillman of Springfield, and driver identified as Patrick Holloway, of Republic, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Wamsley and Shandrea Holloway succumbed to death at Cox South hospital in Springfield.

The 1-year-old girl in the Holloway vehicle was admitted to Cox South with moderate injuries.

Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
