Four killed after head-on car crash in Urbana, Ohio

Four people were killed after a head-on car crash on U.S. 68, in Urbana, Ohio on Saturday.

The crash took place around 7 p.m. in the area of U.S. 68 and Hickory Grove Road in Urbana.

At least five people were admitted to area hospitals.

The road was closed for hours after the crash.

A Toyota Highlander was heading north on U.S. 68 when a white SUV crossed the center line and struck them head-on.

Four occupants in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver and one other occupant of the SUV were admitted to Urbana Hospital for their injuries. A child from the SUV was admitted to Dayton Children’s Hospital by medical helicopter.

The people in the white Toyota Highlander were admitted to an area hospital by Urbana emergency units due to their injuries.

The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office contributed to the investigation of the crash.

Identifies of the victims are yet to be released.
