General Motors is recalling almost 800,000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickup across the world as the models could lose power steering, as per documents made public Friday.

The largest U.S. automaker stated the 2014 model year trucks could suffer a temporary loss of electric power steering, specifically during low-speed turning maneuvers, the documents revealed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration noted.

The recall consists of 690,000 vehicles in the United States, 80,000 in Canada and around 25,000 in other countries. GM dealerships will reflash the automobile’s software to deal with the flaw.

GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson did not have any information on whether crashes or injuries are connected to the recall.

GM informed regulators that prior the 2015 model year it made a series of changes to deal with prospective sources of temporary low voltage conditions that disable the power steering.

GM has actually not stated when dealers will start fixing vehicles.
