Google is paying individuals in Arizona $20 an hour to sit in the company’s driverless vehicles as they go back and forth in between particular locations. You will not simply be sitting by passively for hours on end, however, as you’ll need to be focusing enough to take control of the wheel if something fails.

“Test drivers play a vital function in establishing our self-driving technology,” Brian Torcellini, head of operations for Google’s Self-Driving Car screening program, informs The Arizona Republic. “They offer our engineers feedback about how our cars are driving and connecting with others on the road, and can take control of the automobile if needed.”

Google is looking for potential riders who are willing to sign contracts that last either 12 months or 24 months. Google will have the motorists work in pairs– one will remain in the driver’s seat all set to take the wheel of the automobile, while the other will be in the traveler’s seat keeping in mind on a laptop.

Torcellini likewise explained that Google has hired individuals from all types of backgrounds, from English instructors to orbital welders. That said, they must certainly also have good driving records and be familiar with the roadways in the Phoenix location.

Google’s Android VR headset appears all but confirmed.
