The new Jag didn’t perform very well in the new series of crash tests performed by the Euro NCAP organization. The car barely made it with just 4 stars. In total, 14 cars were tested, 10 of which took the maximum score. The Jaguar had problems when it came to adult and child occupant protection. NCAP said that the occupants were exposed to several structures in the dashboard.
The risk for an injury at the knee/femur/pelvis body region was rated as marginal. Also, the tests have shown that the front airbag cannot be disabled to permit a rearward facing child restraint to be put in that seating position.
NCAP also deducted points because of the restraint that didn’t have instruction and warning labels that were permanently attached. Jaguar said that they respect the decision taken by Euro NCAP, so they will deal with these problems.
