Jeep announces official pricing for the Grand Cherokee

Jeep announced this week the pricing for the base 4-wheel drive variant of the 2011 Grand Cherokee tagged as the Laredo 4×4. The sticker price is $32,995 which is cheaper by $465 that the equivalent model for 2010. The price already includes shipping cost.

Chrysler started this week constructing Grand Cherokees at their North Assembly Plant located in Detroit. The vehicles are scheduled to hit dealerships by June this year.

The Grand Cherokee will be pushed to the consumers in three different variants. You can choose from the Laredo 4×4, the Limited 4×4 priced starting at $39,995, and the range topping Overland with a sticker price of $42,995.

The dealers of Chrysler have been awaiting for the release of the new Grand Cherokee which is the first redesigned vehicle after getting out of bankruptcy last June.

Jeep will also be selling rear drive only version of the Grand Cherokee. The 2011 models for this version are also lower. The current Laredo starts at $30,995 compared to its older sibling kicking off at $31,490. The Limited version starts at $37,495 compared to the older model at $40,200. Chrysler did not release an Overland for 2010.

The based models for the Grand Cherokee will be equipped with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 powerplant which can return a mileage of 23 mpg. These vehicles will be the first in the Chrysler garage to use this engine.

The Grand Cherokee comes with air suspension that allows the driver to raise and lower the vehicle during off road and on road conditions. It is also equipped with the traction control technology called Selec-Terrain system which can easily adapt on dry pavement, snow covered, or even rocky terrain.

The announced pricing of the Grand Cherokee is inline with their recent policy to keep the prices down while offering more content.
