A number of spy images have shown up on the World Wide Web pages recently and it seems that these spy images depict the facelifted version of the pro_cee’d coupe from the South Korean automaker, KIA. The 3-door coupe was caught on camera as it was undergoing test prior to its debut, which should be imminent.
Judging by the spy images, the KIA pro-cee’d coupe is likely to feature a new design for its front and rear ends as the South Korean company has made sure to cover these parts with camouflage. However, the changes may not be too major, especially if you consider the minor revisions on the i30 from Hyundai. The latter is the sister model of KIA’s upcoming vehicle.
With that being said, perhaps the only significant change that customers can probably expect from the upcoming 3-door coupe is the power it has under the hood. Some people out there believe that the currently available 1.4L and 1.6L engine, naturally aspirated, are to be replaced by 1.0L and 1.2L turbo engines. Thanks to the use of a turbocharger for the engine, the car will now consume fuel more efficiently than ever before. It is also reported that the car may well be coming with both manual (6-speed) and automatic (7-speed) dual clutch transmission options for customers to choose. The latter is a newly developed technology and it was first introduced when Hyundai officially unveiled the i30 facelift.
The KIA pro_cee’d facelift is most likely to debut this September, when the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show kicks off. It will supposedly be available in several variants, which are, GT coupe and hatchback, wagon, coupe and hatchback. For your information, besides the 3-door coupe facelift, the South Korean company’s upcoming 5-door cee’d hatchback and its hotter GT version have also been caught on tape.
