Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder [Info and Photos]

by Zack Colt

The Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder has been unveiled at the Los Andgeles Auto Show. This is a very awesome rear-wheel-drive monster in a drop-top configuration which weighs in at 1,520 kg (3,351 lbs). You can imagine this wasn’t quite a boring element of the show.

The sports car is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 with 550 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque, having the power transmitted to the rear wheels via a manual or automatic six-speed gearbox, and the top speed is 198 mph. It can complete the 0-62 mph sprint in just 4.2 seconds.

In order to improve not only effiency, but also safety and great looks as well, Lamborghini also made some other changes to this beautiful beast. A new chassis and suspension kit, plus an upgraded aerodynamic look have been added, making the plan complete.

The new LP 550-2 Spyder “will appeal to a very special group of customers that enjoy a spirited driving style and also like to experience the sheer pleasure of open-air driving”, as the company’s CEO, Stephan Winkelmann says.

Cannot wait to see this on the streets.
