Lamborghini will recover money after launching their new model

by Adrian Hayden

It seems that the global crisis has affected Lamborghini. After they stopped producing the Murcielago, the company’s sales have been really thin. The only way for sales to pick up, is for Lamborghni to launch a new model. The Murcielago had a price tag of $400,000 and brought a very big income to the company.

Stephan Winkelmann, the CEO of Lamborghini said that even with the growth of Lamborghini’s influence in Asia, the first half sales dropped 2.6% to 152.9 million euros. In 2009, sales had dropped 41% to 281 million euros. He also said that the recovery will not be immediate, considering the fact that markets like Europe and US have a very small demand.

Winklemann stated that he expects the sales to go up again in the second half of the next year. The Murcielago is Lamborghini’s top selling 12 cylinder super car, the company having produced 4,000 units in nine years.
