Mercedes has recently announced that they have sold more than 10 million C-Classes models since the 190 was launched back in the 80s.
The first C-Class model was launched way back in 1982 and the latest version was launched in 2007 and the company has managed to sell more than 2.3 million units of the current model till date. Noting the success of the car, Mercedes said that the C-Class coupe tops the registration lists in virtually all markets, including countries like Germany, China and the United States.
Mercedes-Benz Cars Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Dr Joachim Schmidt stated that the Mercedes-Benz C-Class was a global success story. It was launched as the ‘Baby Benz’, and now it is now one of the most popular cars in the premium segment. He gave credit to innovative engineering and impressive efficiency of the C-Class which have been inspiring the customers for more than 30 years to go for the brand.
While the current model is about to be stopped soon, Mercedes did confirm that the 2014 C-Class will be built at various plants located at Bremen in Germany, East London in South Africa, Beijing in China and Tuscaloosa in the United States.
