A Westminster, Colorado female was detained Saturday after her 2-year-old kid was left inside a car in subzero temperatures over night.

Officers were contacted to look for a 2013 green Ford Fusion near the 10000 block of north Washington Street around 10:40 a.m. with regards to a possible mishap Friday night where a mom had left a kid in car.

At 12 p.m., Thornton Cops discovered the snow covered car at a shopping center parking area in the 900 block of East 120th Avenue.

The young child was discovered inside struggling with hypothermia and frostbite, and was taken to hospital. His condition is unidentified at this time.

The kid’s mom, 26-year-old Nicole Carmon, was apprehended for investigation of felony kid abuse.

Officers are still working to identify exactly what resulted the kid being left in the car, together with information to for how long he was left alone.
