New Cadillac XTS Sedan makes China entry

Starting the new year with a bang Cadillac’s brand new XTS luxury sedan has been launched in China.

There will be a choice of tow engines and they are 2.0-liter turbo producing 269 hp which will be called XTS 28T and a 3.6-liter V6 offering 309 hp sold under the name “XTS 36S“.

The 2-liter turbo enables the car to travel from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds, while the V6 is slightly faster at 7.5 seconds.

Cadillac has plans to sell more than one lakh(100,000) vehicles in China in another two years time and capture 10 percent of China’s luxury car market by 2020. There are also plans to introduce SUV at a later stage as Cadillac has admitted that it will play a crucial role in the near future.

The XTS will be ready for production. Prices will start at RMB 349,900 for a base XTS 28T Comfort and can go all the way up to RMB 569,900 for the V6 model, the Platinum.

Body colors include Dazzling Black, Dreamy White, Glistening Gold, Titanium Silver and Crystal Grey, whereas for the inside part it will be either champagne and black.
