Pedestrian dies in St. Petersburg, Florida after being hit by car

A pedestrian died trying to cross Roosevelt Boulevard near MLK Jr. Street N, Florida on Thursday night after being struck by a car, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Around 7:45 p.m. Thursday night, a man was hit by an SUV and died due to his injuries, police said. The driver of the SUV stopped and is cooperating with the investigation.

Roosevelt Boulevard was shut in both directions between 4th Street North and MLK Jr. Street N Thursday night as officials continued their investigation.
