Tesla Autopilot decrease accidents by 50 percent, says Elon Musk

Elon Musk states that the company’s Autopilot semi-autonomous driving function lowers possibilities of an accident by 50 percent.

“The likelihood of having an accident is 50-percent lower if you have Auto-pilot on,” he said. “Even with our very first version.”.

Musk is mentioning the company’s very first generation of Auto-pilot. The feature is anticipated to improve as Tesla advances the technology. Musk made the comments as an occasion in Norway and didn’t offer further information or specifics as to the accident figures.

Auto-pilot introduced on the Model S and Tesla then included it to the Model X and Model 3. Tesla bills Auto-pilot as a driver help function in its existing type.
