Three killed after car crash in Tellico Plains

Three people were killed and two people were injured following a car crash on New Highway 68 Wednesday night, in Tellico Plains.

One of the injured individuals included an infant girl.

The crash took place when the car was driving west on the road and it crossed the center line and struck the driver’s side of another car.

The second car stopped, but the first car kept driving and left the road on the eastbound side, striking several trees and rocks.

After it overturned, it ejected three people.

Those three dead have been identified as Shannon Blankenship, 32, and Jolynn Farmer, 23. Another person was also killed in the crash — Marvin Parker, 21.

The driver of the first car, a 46-year-old man also named Marvin Parker was injured.

A 21-year-old and one infant in the other car were also injured.

Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
