Three people killed after two-vehicle crash on I-75 in Florida

A car crash on Saturday night on Interstate 75 in Pasco County, Florida resulted in the deaths of three people.

The crash took place semi-truck was traveling southbound on I-75 at Mile Marker 283 in the center lane whereas an SUV was also traveling in the same direction.

As the semi-truck took a different lane, it entered the way of the SUV which then resulted in the crash with the tractor-trailer.

A 57-year-old driver of the SUV and the two passengers, a 53-year-old woman, and a 16-year-old boy, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Both southbound and northbound lanes of I-75 were shut for six hours before they were reopened.

Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
