Toyota sells its 10 millionth Camry in the US

by David Bond

There is no doubt about the fact that Toyota Camry has been America’s best-selling sedan for over a decade and the company has recently announced yet another milestone which further approves the popularity of the model. The company has sold their 10 millionth model in the US.

The picture has not always been rosy for the company. When the Camry was launched in the year 1983, Toyota could manage to sell only 52,651 units whereas in the last year, Toyota sold as many as 404,886 Camrys. According to the company, there are approximately 6.4 million Camrys on U.S. roads including around 770 of the original 1983 models.

Toyota’s US Senior Vice President of automotive operations expressed his happiness over the performance of the vehicle of the years and also stated that the Toyota dealers have also been instrumental in getting Americans behind the wheel of a Camry.
