Two-cylinder diesel Volkswagen Up! due in 2013

It is a confirmed news that Volkswagen is coming with Two-Cylinder Volkswagen Up by 2013.

Volkswagen’s R&D chief Ulrich Hackenberg has confirmed that the German automaker is coming out with a two-cylinder diesel variant of the Volkswagen Up, city car in 2013, which is directly aimed at the rival Fiat Panda Twin Air. The company says that the power unit is compatible with the New Small Family platform developed by Volkswagen, making it sure to be sure seen in 2015 model of Taigun concept with a two-cylinder diesel engine. The three-cylinder engines offered for the up! are compatible with the firm’s larger MQB platform so in the near future the seventh generation of the Golf could be offered with a 3-cylinder engine.

This new version gets a modified engine version of the super frugal XL1, which is already a Limited Edition car, coming out next year.
