Two dead after car crashed near Ardmore, Oklahoma

Two people died Saturday night after a car accident took place north of Ardmore, Oklahoma around 9:00 p.m.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a car was being driven by Kianna Pierce, 24, of Pass Christian, Mississippi, which was hit in the rear by a Jeep causing both the Jeep and the car to depart the right side of the roadway.

Pierce and passenger Kierra Gates, 21, died in the accident. One other passenger was in the car and was being treated and released from the hospital.

The driver and passenger of the Jeep were also treated and released from the hospital.

Seat-belts were being used by drivers and passengers in both cars.

The factors that resulted in the collision are under investigation.
