Two dead after vehicle falls off a service bridge in Austin

Two people were killed on Saturday morning after a vehicle fell off an east Austin service bridge and onto the road below in Texas.

The crash took place around 4:21 a.m. at the intersection of 51st Street and Interstate 35, according to Austin Police Department.

Four people were inside the vehicle.

Austin-Travis County EMS said two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

One person with critical, life-threatening injuries was admitted to Dell Seton Medical Center.

As of 6 a.m. Saturday, the I-35 southbound frontage road was shut down as investigation continued into the incident.
