Two dead and four injured after car crash in Ayrshire

A 65-year-old man and a 35-year-old man died after a car crash on the A713, near Patna, Ayrshire.

The crash occurred around 4.40 pm. The cars involved included a black Volkswagen Sirocco, a blue BMW 4 series, and a silver Vauxhall Mokka.

Emergency services arrived and found the 35-year-old driver of the Volkswagen and a 65-year-old passenger in the BMW.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 62-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the BMW was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Her condition is critical.

35-year-old driver of the BMW was admitted to Crosshouse hospital. Her condition is stable. A 48-year-old driver and a 22-year-old passenger of Vauxhall were admitted to Ayr Hospital.

The road was closed for about eight hours as investigation into the incident continued.
