Two dead, one injured after car crash on Cambridge Road, Ontario

Two people were killed and one has been seriously injured after a car crash on a major road in Cambridge, Ontario.

Officials were notified of the crash around 11:50 p.m. on Thursday in the area of Hespeler Road and Sheldon Drive.

The crash took place when Hyundai was heading north on Hespeler and it drove into the side of a Toyota heading south, resulting in the Toyota rolling over.

The driver of the Toyota, a 51-year-old man from Florida, and a 31-year-old passenger of Hyundai from Pickering were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 22-year-old man from Ontario was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Hespeler Road from Lang’s Drive to Pinebush Road was closed in both directions for the investigation.

At 7:30 Friday morning, the southbound lanes were reopened.

Waterloo Regional Police Service has urged people with information about this crash to contact them.
