Three dead, three injured after crash on Highway 12 in California

Three were killed and the other three were injured following a head-on car crash on Highway 12, in Stockton on Friday.

It was around 2:19 p.m. when a Hyundai Elantra was traveling eastbound on State Route 12 behind a Honda Pilot with three passengers.

A Toyota Camry was traveling west on the highway.

The driver of the Hyundai started to veer into the dirt shoulder of the highway, parallel to a ditch before losing control of her car then swerved back into the eastbound lane and crashed with the Honda Pilot.

The impact of the crash sent both cars into the westbound lane, in the path of the Toyota Camry and another crash happened.

The driver of the Hyundai died together with two passengers of the Honda.

The driver and another passenger of the Honda had injuries.

The driver of the Toyota was hospitalized.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
