Two dead, three injured after car crash in Batavia

Two men died and a family of three got injured following a car crash in Batavia, Illinois on Sunday night.

The officials responded to the car crash in the 700-block of West Fabyan Parkway by around 7:15 p.m.

The crash took place when a Ford Mustang was traveling west on Fabyan Parkway when it crossed over the center line and was struck by a Kia Optima traveling east.

Two men in the Ford Mustang were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was identified as a 21-year-old named Farzin Khamis-Zadegan of Batavia. An 18-year-old named Brian Froehlich of Elburn was the passenger.

Three occupants in the Kia Optima, a 37-year-old woman and two young boys, ages 12 and 6, were hospitalized.

The crash is under investigation by Batavia police. It is not known what caused the crash.
