Two dead, two injured after car crash in Kingsport, Tennessee

Two were killed and two others were injured after a vehicle left Interstate 81 and crashed on State Route 126 in Kingsport, Tennessee on Saturday morning.

The patrol officers responded to the single-vehicle crash just before 10 a.m. when a 2013 Hyundai Elantra 4-door sedan was northbound on I-81 moving Exit 66 when the vehicle drifted into the center grass median.

The vehicle then crashed and became airborne, and dropped between the northbound and southbound overpasses, before coming to rest on SR 126.

Two victims identified as Lester E. Martinez Zavala, and Kevin Alexander Ramirez Moncada, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two others were admitted to the hospital.

SR 126 was closed for almost four hours.

Kingsport Police Department’s  Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
