Two dead, two injured after car crash in Tampa, Florida

Two men were killed and a man and woman were taken to hospital after a car crash on the Tampa side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway in Florida.

According to Tampa Police, the two-vehicle crash took place at 3:42 a.m.

The car is said to have been flipped over and multiple people were ejected from the car.

Tampa Police and Clearwater Police attended the crash site.

One vehicle involved in the crash had a single occupant who suffered no injuries but the other vehicle, which overturned, had four occupants.

Two men in that vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man in that car was hospitalized in critical condition and a woman was taken to the hospital with possible internal injuries.

The roadway was shut from Clearwater to the Ben T. Davis Beach area due to the crash.

Drivers have been urged to use Hillsborough Avenue and Tampa Road, the Gandy or Howard Frankland bridges for now.
