Two killed after car crash in Chicopee, Massachusetts

Two died after a car crash in Chicopee, Massachusetts on Tuesday night.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Massachusetts State Police said that a 2001 Acura MDX and a 2010 Kia Soul were driving south on Route 391 about 7:30 p.m. Both drivers attempted to pass a third car before their vehicle crashed and ultimately struck into trees off the side of the highway between Exits 3 and 4.

The identities of both drivers have been released as Tiana M. Vega, 20, drove Acura. The driver of the Kia was John M. Burkott, 28. Both are from Springfield.

The left travel lane was shut for sometime but was later reopened.
