Two killed after car crash in Cochranton

Two people were killed after their car hit a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Route 322 and Ridgeway Hill Road in Cochranton, Crawford County, Pennsylvania on Thursday morning.

The crash took place when a tractor-trailer traveling south on Ridgeway Hill Road pulled out in front of a car that was moving west on Route 322, and the car hit the trailer part of the tractor-trailer.

A 49-year-old identified as Tracy R. Kope, was the driver of the car and Jay A. Scott, 62, was in the front passenger seat.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third person was hospitalized.

Route 322 was closed from Franklin Street in East Fairfield Township to Route 173, after the crash. It was reopened by the afternoon.
