Two killed after car crash on I-10 in St. James Parish

Two people were killed after a car crash on Interstate 10, in St. James Parish, Louisiana on October 13.

Louisiana State Police responded to a two vehicle fatal crash shortly after 6:00 p.m.

David Curtis, 45, of New Orleans and Herbert Fernandez, 55, of Springfield died in the crash.

The crash took place as Curtis was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 in a 2004 Nissan Armada. Fernandez was also traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 in a 2019 Freightliner Cascade. The Nissan then ran off the road to the left and crossed the median, then it entered the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 and struck the Freightliner.

The crash is currently being investigated to know what caused the Nissan to ran off the raod.
