Two killed after car crash on Clinton Road in Fayetteville

Two were killed and one person was injured after a car crash on Thursday morning on Clinton Road in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The two-vehicle crash was reported at 7:43 a.m. near the Interstate 95 overpass.

The crash took place when a 28-year-old identified as Sorsha Monique Lawson, of CL Tart Circle, was eastbound in a 2007 Ford Mustang and she ran off the right side of the road and over-corrected into oncoming traffic.

Lawson’s Mustang was hit in the passenger side by a westbound 2015 Ford sedan driven by an 84-year-old identified as Lawrence Edwin Alford of Godwin Circle.

Lawson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alford’s wife identified as Delores Alford, 81, succumbed to injuries in hospital.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
