Two killed after car crash on Highway 26

Two people were killed after a car crash Saturday afternoon on Highway 26 on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation.

Officials confirmed the two deaths.

An extended closure occurred following the crash, reported shortly before 2 p.m. just east of the state Highway 216 junction at milepost 77.

It was closed for almost five hours.

The highway was resumed by about 6:30 p.m.

The Oregon State Police and Warm Springs Tribal Police are investigating the crash.
