Two killed after car crashes into Fresno County canal

Fresno area officials say two people were killed following a car crash into a canal in Fresno County, California.

The vehicle crash happened at Lincoln Ave & Placer Ave just north of San Joaquin at 4:49 pm.

When officers attended the scene, they found the white SUV overturned and wholly submerged in the water.

They managed to pull out a man and a woman who were inside the vehicle.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it is assisting the California Highway Patrol (CHP) at the scene.

It is yet to be known that what caused the crash.
