Two killed after crash between train and car in Linn County

Two people died after a train crashed into a car in Fairfax, Linn County, Iowa on Sunday afternoon.

The crash took place on the train tracks that parallel Southview Road west of town.

At about 4:15 p.m., a Union Pacific train traveling east crashed with a car at a private railroad crossing.

Two people in the car, a man and a woman, were pronounced dead on the scene.

Their identities haven’t been released yet.
