Two killed after two-car crash in Osceola County

Two people were killed after a car crash on Wednesday in Osceola County, Florida.

The crash took place when a Hyundai Elantra was moving west on State Road 60, west of Peavine Road, as a Ford F-150 was heading east on 60 and the driver of the Hyundai attempted to pass a tractor-trailer in a passing zone but moved into the eastbound lane when his vehicle hit the front of the Ford.

The 63-year-old Hyundai driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 62-year-old female passenger in the car succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

Both were from Fort Pierce.

The driver and passenger in the Ford had minor injuries.

Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
