Two killed after two-vehicle crash on Statesville highway

Two people were killed after a car struck two pickup trucks coming from the opposite direction on the Statesville highway in North Carolina on Sunday.

Officials said it was just after 7:15 p.m. when a Honda Accord was driving west on Highway 70 when it went into the opposite lane before sideswiping a Ford pickup truck.

The Accord then struck GMC pickup truck head-on.

A 27-year-old passenger of the Honda identified as Chad Tyrone Kincaid died in the crash.

A 79-year-old passenger of the GMC identified as Doris May Proefrock died as well.

Statesville Police Department is investigating the crash.
