Two killed in two-vehicle crash in Lawrence County, Illinois

Two people died in a car crash that took place around 6 a.m. on Saturday morning in Lawrence County, Illinois.

A 19-year-old male from Clay City, was driving a 1999 Gold Lincoln Town Car when he crossed the centerline crashed head-on with a 1997 Maroon Chevrolet Truck that engulfed after the crash.

The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.

The roadway was closed but was later reopened around 12:30 p.m.

The identities of the victims are yet to be released pending notification to their families.
