Two men were killed early Saturday morning after their car slammed into a concrete traffic pole at the intersection of 103rd Street and Ricker Road, Jacksonville, Florida, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A third man in the car was thrown from it, and the family informed News4Jax he was in the Intensive Care Unit at Orange Park Medical Center.

Troopers said the car was accelerating when the driver lost control and struck the pole. The impact wrapped the vehicle around the pole, which was partially knocked over.

The driver and front passenger died at the scene. Both were 32 years old. The rear passenger was hospitalized in serious condition.

Family said the man admitted to the hospital. He was 22 years old and that the three were cousins and were all family men.

Troopers added that none of the men were wearing seat belts.

All lanes of 103rd Street were closed following the incident in both directions and JSO was redirecting traffic.
